Introducing One Thimble Issue 12 and two Molly and Mama patterns
On Friday, my favourite digital sewing magazine was released – Issue 12 of One Thimble*! If you’ve been around for a while, you’ll know that I’m a big fan! I love contributing patterns to this wonderful publication. I was lucky enough to be asked to design two separate projects for the current issue. And so it’s my pleasure to introduce you to the Darling Daisy Bag, and the Flutterby Kite.
The Darling Daisy Bag is a small simple girl’s bag with a Molly and Mama style felt flower face applique on the front. The bag design is a super simple sew and easy for beginners. The felt flower face is also straightforward, but perhaps a little easier to create if you’ve sewn with felt before.
The Flutterby Kite comes with two different options for the front; a traditional front with four quarters, and a strip-work patchwork front with embroidery detail. This pattern was written as a beginner’s introduction to the process of patchwork and quilting, so even if you haven’t tried something like this before, there’s lots of photos, step-by-step instructions and tips. You’ll love it! And although I’m not quite sure it would actually fly, it will make a beautiful addition to a child’s bedroom decor.
Both designs are part of a wonderful collection of 10 PDF patterns found in One Thimble 12. You can see all the lovely designs below. From party dresses to rompers, skirts to bow ties, bags to crop tops, this Watercolour themed issue has something for everyone.

Jen the editor creates the magazine from her own home studio, and brings you the best of indie designers from Australia and around the world. How cool is that?
And if you’re just interested in one or two patterns, you can still buy the PDF’s as stand-alone, individual patterns on the One Thimble website.
Stay tuned this week as I share more about my new patterns and how they’re inspiring sewists from around the world! I can’t wait to show you!
Happy stitching, Lauren x
